I'm looking for people who have gone through the HQA visa program

We're in the process of thinking through what the next few decades might look like for our family, and considering the instability and fractiousness in the US, we've begun exploring visa programs for residency elsewhere. The HQA visa for Portugal is interesting, but we're missing some important information: We don't know anyone who has pursued this route. (See inside)

The specific company that runs the HQA program we're interested in is the Canada-based Empowered Startups. They've been nice but because of privacy issues around immigration, haven't been able to connect us up with people going through (or having completed) the process. Most of our procedural, technical questions have been answered, but we're looking for a more human context and information about the experience from someone doing it.

If any group is likely to know people who've done the HQA process, it's AskMe.

The name notwithstanding, BritishExpats.com has an active and helpful forum for moving to many countries.

You could also check places like Expat.com, NomadGate and so on.

...but most of the resources you'll find are likely going to be focused on the GVP (and, to a lesser degree, the D7), so when you ask questions you should be VERY clear you're pursuing HQA or people will likely default to GVP/D7 answers. You will probably also need to make it clear you've got the lawyer side of things sorted.
