I live in Sweden. What I want is in Australia

Thanks to this excellent comment from Too-Ticky, I discovered that IKEA has a fabric Christmas tree in some countries only (not here in Sweden, for example). Alas, that fabric is sold out in the UK and in the Netherlands. It is on sale online via IKEA in Australia. Any ideas about how to get it bought in Australia before January 1, 2022 and sent to me in the new year? There is no hurry about shipping it to me. FYI, the package should be about 600 grams.

Often, posting a Metafilter Job will turn up someone who will do this kind of task for you for the cost of buying it, shipping it and a little lagniappe for their time, but I don't know if there are enough Mefites in Australia that it will definitely work.

Looks as if there are a few on Ebay, at least some of which are in the UK and might ship to Sweden.

I live close to an IKEA and it's all my fault! I've registered to get notified by text message if/when it shows up in the stores again, and if that happens, I will let you know. I can easily get one and ship it your way.

It's in the UK IKEA stores if that helps!

It's presently unavailable for online ordering from the Australian site. The only store reporting stock is at Marsden Park in western Sydney (Rhodes store (also western Sydney) reports 1 in stock). Unfortunately Marsden Park is a 2-hour drive from where I am, otherwise I'd be happy to oblige.

Amazon has these, roughly the same size. Or you could probably get someone to paint a sheet with a tree.

Best answer: Marsden Park is my closest IKEA - about 25 minutes away! Happy to go and buy one for you if you still want it. PM me here and we'll sort something out. I can go Monday afternoon.

This is no longer the case... we're in lockdown. It would be super cool if ninazer0 can indeed help you out.
Holiday cheer and IKEA trees to all!
