Where to Find This Primo Primer

Where can I buy stainable primer for use on my kitchen countertops?
There is a painting/staining process which one can employ to treat laminate countertops in order to make them look astonishingly like wooden countertops, as described in this blog post. The process requires a stainable primer, a graining tool, stain in the shade of one's choice, and polyurethane finish. I have the latter three items, but have run into difficulty in finding a stainable primer.
I have inquired in Rona, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, and Sherwin-Williams here in Toronto, and none of the staff in those stores had even heard of a stainable primer before, much less carried it. The only option I have found is Retique It Liquid Wood, on Amazon.ca, but I was wondering if there might be a less expensive, non-Amazon option.
Suggestions? Product must either be available for purchase in Toronto, or ship there.

I recently painted my counters with their marble kit and the transformation is amazing.
