Webcomic that isn't Order of the Stick. Is it?

Years ago I read a webcomic, I probably found it here, it was about nerd who got sucked into a roleplay world and could use his OOC knowledge to be a great strategist or something. More inside.

It's not anything on this list. It's weird, I recognise OOTS and Giant In the Playgound very strongly as phrases, but the comic rings no bells. The two main things I absolutely remember are a small bat screaming omgwtfbbq and (spoilers) two women on either side of the war having a spy-tryst with sub/dom overtones in a dungeon. The comic is mainly comedic and there was lots of it, more detailed graphics than oots but not highly detailed. It's not oglaf either. What am I thinking of?

Best answer: I think it's Erfworld, I found it years ago too, through the sidebar of OOTS.

Best answer: Yes, its Erfwold, originally hosted on order of the sticks website, then migrated to a new site. There it had a difficult time, losing artista, and often resorting to pure prose. Unfortunately, due to a personal tragedy the author decided to remove the comic entirely a couple of years back

Response by poster: Thanks, that's the one, and thanks for helping explain why I was conflating the two.
Seems he's made the archive available, I might check back in, thanks all!
