What song was used in tonight's episode of Without A Trace?

My husband is going crazy because there was a song on an episode of Without A Trace tonight and he can't think of the name of the song or who performs it. Can you help us out? (He really is going nuts.)
Best answer: The episode was "The Bus," assuming you meant the one that was aired on TNT, and according to this page, a song on the episode was "Mad World" by Gary Jules, which can be found on the Donnie Darko soundtrack. I don't know if that's the one you're referring to, of course.

Best answer: (It's the same "Mad World" song that Tears for Fears used to sing, but the version of it on the show was the Gary Jules version.)

Oh, and here's an iTunes link for the album, but, unfortunately, you'll have to buy the whole album if you want that particular track.

Response by poster: thanks to all for your help! it's a very haunting, beautiful song and my husband has been trying to track it down for ages. we were a little confused at first, but now i think i get it:
the song is Mad World, which was written by Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears and originally performed by Tears for Fears. this version is performed by Michael Andrews, with vocals by Gary Jules. It originally appeared on the album Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets, and was later used in the soundtrack of "Donnie Darko."
that's how we've figured it out; if anyone has corrections or further clarifications for us we'd be glad to hear them!

Weird! "Mad World" was the answer to another what-song-was-that-on-TV question here on AskMe.

The very fine mp3 blog Pimps of Gore discussed the different versions of the song last month. Can't promise the mp3s are still there, but the post is.

Thank you for asking this question! I watched the same episode last night and wanted to know about the song as well. I thought it was some B-side REM or something. I love this place.
