Hazy, detuned landscapes of sound.

I love the recent direction many indie-pop bands are going in, with a detuned, mildly atonal, reverb-soaked sound, like STRFKR's Future Past Life or Gwenno's Le Kov. I'm aware of any number of older titles that do something similar (Broadcast often being exemplars), but what other recent releases (say, past 5 years) share that kind of dreamy, mutated sound?

These aren't remotely new, but My Bloody Valentine's Loveless, and Lush's Spooky seem like the templates for these newer bands.

Have a listen to Still Corners, Vanishing Twin, the first two Tamaryn albums (she's gone in a more dance pop direction post-Tender New Signs), and certain eras of Memory Tapes and Washed Out might scratch this itch (that's more like 5-10 years ago though).

Hmm. Tame Impala definitely fits this mold, as does Temples to a certain extent. The Essex Green is a little more on the psych side, but could fit. Widowspeak and La Luz have aspects of this but not quite as fuzzy. HOLY should be on your list but their 2018 album is pretty wild, less song-focused. Certainly worth a listen though.

Another grand-daddy of this genre, in case you happen to have not listened to it (I like this stuff and I didn't until last year), is Medicine's Shot Forth Self Living.

OH, and Alvvays (though 2014 was 6 years ago already? geez...)

Maybe Beach House (it isn't new, but does have some albums newer than five years old, like Bloom).

Maybe pushing the boundaries a bit, but...

Superorganism
I DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME
Bon Iver - iMi
Car Seat Headrest
They’ve been around for a while, but the new Dirty Projectors is good.

I wonder if Guster's most recent music would work for you. Try:

Look Alive

Hard Times

And maybe their full album Evermotion

kingKrule - Easy Easy , plenty of reverb there, and more natural sounds.

Death and the Maiden - Hourglass, maybe.

This is the kit - Earthquake , again maybe. I found them the other night while looking for groups with similar ethos or feel to Sleaford Mods - TCR, nsfw language. Sleaford is NOt your sound tho'!

A lot of Mac DeMarco's stuff is sufficiently detuned that I can barely listen to it.

Yeah, I was going to mention Mac DeMarco and similar styles. See if you like this unfortunately-titled playlist, though it's a little more downtempo that the stuff you posted.

Atlas Sound
Later works of the Horrors, like Skying
Some of Wand's albums, like Golem

You might like Mazzy Star.

And although they are definitely not for everybody, Bardo Pond does a very sludgy psychedelia that I would argue presaged post-rock.

Edit: sorry, reading comprehension problem. These are not recent.
