The best volunteer coordination software?

I'm tasked with finding the best solution for coordinating volunteer signups for the house tours that our neighborhood puts on two or three times a year. Right now we're using a shared Google spreadsheet that's proved to be not as effective as we'd hoped.

We need a way for people to sign up for specific tasks and for the volunteer coordinators to see what slots are filled and what ones are still in need of filling.

Some of the requirements:
- >100 individual tasks for each event
- No Google or Facebook accounts necessary
- Preferably no account creation needed for volunteers although obviously coordinators will need to log in.
- Some of the tasks are one person per timeslot, some are multiple
- Accessible via desktop and mobile. Many people had trouble with the Google Spreadsheets on iPads.

Our school uses signupgenius.com to coordinate large numbers of volunteers for events. It has been easy to use as a volunteer & I think the coordinator side of things wasn't too difficult. I don't know if volunteers have to sign up for an account, but if they do, the system can send email reminders.

Having done a lot of school volunteering/coordinating I agree that signupgenius is the best site. You can specify multiple tasks and how many people you need for each one. It's very easy to use.
