What's in the sack?

I like reading Everyday Carry blogs and seeing pictures of what is inside people's pockets and bags. Everyday Carry leans very male and very weapons/survivalist oriented. Are there any places online that do a similar thing but with purses, or car trunks, or work backpacks? Less zombie apocalypse and more practical weird-stuff-i-use-daily type things?

US Magazine has a What's In My Bag? feature you may enjoy.

I enjoy this one Whats in my bag. From their About US "Cool Tools is a web site which recommends the best/cheapest tools available. Tools are defined broadly as anything that can be useful"

Youtube is a goldmine for this!

From a previous comment, some other non tacticool EDC sources that are still active include Persona and Uses This.

Cool Tools (as mentioned multiple times above) has a great section. Rarely do those featured use their EDC they way I do but because they're not all preppin-for-the-end-times-with-weapons-and-tactile-lip-balm they're always pretty interesting.

Similarily the occasional thread here have been fascinating.

I'd love to see something like the Cool Tools guest spot borrowed for metafilter. Just like I loved the idea of a guest on the podcast and the interview podcast that didn't really go anywhere.

My one substantial suggestion is a reminder that YouTube searches work like google searches: operators work there too. SO https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=EDC+bag+-tactical does what you expect and drops results continuing 'tactical'.

It was light on pictures, but did you see the EDC Metatalktail Hour?

I especially like Vent, Enter, Search which is focused on fire service gear. What's in your pocket?

I was going to post "What's in my bag" but jabes beat me to it.

Wow! Thanks you for turning me on the every day carry blog! I love it.

I've been paging through for the last half hour and I've noticed how many
people don't include mobile phones in their carry. I'm wondering if
this is oversight or if they really don't carry mobiles? Like me.

They're using them to take the photo.

lifehacker Used to post a bunch of edc bags - this link is for tags containing edc. Doesn’t seem that they have much since 2015 though. This crowd is a bit more in the tech side of things usually. Mostly things I tote to work and home.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And then I find that some of the stuff was listed under lifehacker’s featured bags...

The Verge has a "What's In Your Bag" series. There's also this fairly new newsletter, "What's in my bag" - "Each week, one interesting person shares four favorite things in their bag."
