The electric slide some say it's mystic

You've made a slide deck with Google Slides. You got open source/free non profit use templates from somewhere and liked them. The website wasn't full of pop-up ads. Where did you get them?
I'm giving two entirely different talks in the coming weeks and I need to not fuck this up. So I need to make two slide decks that look like the same serious professional adult made them. I don't need any fades or wipes or fancy effects. Just a nice array of layouts.
I've tried just going with plain text and the occasional image, but that's not working for me.

If you can get access to create the content in PowerPoint and then import it into Slides, I have found that many of the templates that come with PP are better than the free ones you can download for Slides. YMMV.

Slides Carnival is my usual go-to for Google Slides presentation templates, though not all of them are serious/professional! They're free to use with proper credit.

I was gonna say what NSAID, er, said.
I've given a few fairly weighty presentations using the inbuilt templates, including for job interviews and board-level presentations in my org. While generic, they are pretty clean and stylish -- almost certainly good enough if you're not a graphic designer, agency etc. where your clients might expect a bit more flair.
Tip: if you edit the master slides, you can tweak some of the colours to match eg. your org, or perhaps add a logo or similar.

This, for sure. If the organization doesn't have an official style guide for colors, you can use sites like this to pick out complimentary colors.
