Book ID, possibly for children

I been remembering some oddly specific stuff recently, and so I'm throwing this out for some help filling in gaps. There was a book I didn't read 17 years ago that I'd like to know more about.

In the summer of 1992, as part of a family road trip, I stayed in an Econo Lodge in Atlantic, Iowa. I have innumerable pleasant memories of this trip, but one that's been stuck in my head recently is a book that was in the hotel room. In the nightstand, next to the Gideon's Bible and phone book, was a children's book about Interstate 80. The main character was a cartoon named Otis, and I'm pretty sure Otis's name was in the title of the book. It was an information book with little illustrated stories about places along I-80. That's pretty much all the detail I remember. It seemed like something fun, even though I was too old for it at the time, and I only spent a couple of hours in this hotel room, so I wouldn't have had much time to read it anyway. Does this ring any bells?

Best answer: It wasn't Traveling I-Eighty With Otto, was it?
