Vegan dining out in Seattle

Seattlefilter: where would you direct a couple that includes one vegan for a moderate to nice evening out? Budget up to $100 pp, restaurant can be entirely vegan or vegetarian or one with several good options but also meat options.
Bonus points for easy access either from Ballard or Phinney Ridge, and for newer restaurants they may not have been to.

Best answer: We've had several excellent experiences at Harvest Beat in Wallingford and it's now our go-to for fancy vegan dinner - the frequently-changing seasonal menu means it's always a new experience, although with wine pairings it ends up being slightly over your $100pp budget.
Cafe Flora as mentioned is also great, as is Plum Bistro on Capitol Hill.
(RIP Carmelita, which was our previous default choice).

Best answer: I texted your question to my friend (who is a vegan foodie) in Seattle. She says:
“I most definitely second Harvest Beat (it will be over $100/person) but it's a prefix 7 course menu with seasonal and local ingredients, non-alcoholic/wine paring and a gong as well as information about the farms food is coming from to start the dinner - 100% vegan. As it sounds like they are looking for something a little bit less fancy Cafe Flora (vegetarian) is a great option. Kati Vegan is cute, yummy and kinda intimate, No Bones Beach Club (vegan) is a super cute Tiki Bar Restaurant with yummy options as well. Last but not least Tilth Restaurant is super romantic and has vegan/vegetarian and omnivore menus to choose from.”
Hope that helps!

Seconding both Cafe Flora & No Bones -the latter has some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant, no qualifiers needed. And the tiki drinks are amazing. Try the buffalo wings if you end up there!

Probably more casual than your ask.... Two casual sit-down vegetarian places that I like:
* Sunlight Cafe in Roosevelt, on a side street. Very comfortable and good food.
* Chaco Canyon in Greenwood. Yummy soups and salads, home-baked breads and desserts. Everything organic and very fresh. NOTE: The Chaco in the U-District has changed ownership and is now called Broad Fork, the menu is similar to Chaco, but I don't like it as much.

I was taken to Cafe Flora for my birthday dinner one year and had a vegan wellington which is one of my top meals ever. It was lovely.

It's not fancy, but my favorite vegan place to go to is Bamboo Garden. All of the dishes, even the 'meat' ones, are entirely vegetarian. They also have a good vegan selection.

Response by poster: Thanks, all! Going with Harvest Beat since it’s the one I know they haven’t tried. I have been to a lot of the other ones over my years of vegan-visiting and they are mostly lovely (and I gave them Tilth for their last fancy dinner out, so folks are definitely on the right track).
