Recommend a woman tattoo artist in Portland, Oregon?

I'm hoping to get an appointment with Emily Kaul, but that remains to be seen. I'm going to be there in late October. I also really love Alice at Wonderland Tattoo, but her books are closed. Do you have any recommendations for amazing women tattoo artists in Portland, Oregon? Bonus points if they're queer. I know really amazing artists tend to be booked out far, far in advance, but I can check on last-minute cancellations.

I'm a huge fan of Pony Reinhardt - @freeorgy on Instagram - http://www.tenderfootstudio.com/booking-info

I suspect that you'd have to get really lucky on the timing, but figured it was worth sharing anyway just in case!

Best answer: Cecelia at Art Work Rebels! I am sad she left SF, but my loss is your gain.

Best answer: I haven't had work done by any of their women artists, but I recommend the shop, Infinity Tattoo. I believe they were founded by a woman, and there are currently 2 or 3 woman artists. You'll have to review their work to see if it fits your goals.

Best answer: Lynn Hessel (https://www.lynntattoos.com/) did my first tattoo while she was in Chicago. Still looks great, 7+ years later!

Best answer: @freeorgy is in NYC.

@wolfgore is nb/queer FANTASTIC and their books just opened and I think still are unless they didn't update their insta. They are mostly doing flash right now.
@jaycrosbyillustration is nb/trans/queer and their books are open. I adore their work; they're fresh out of training so their rates are a bit lower if you're comfortable with a newer person.
@v_a_l_l_e_y is also nb/queer and their books open in a few weeks.
@parkergoesplaces's books are open
@cowgirltattoo is a studio with a few rad woman artists, not sure whose books are open.
@twin.suns- books are open til 9/12
Others to watch for cancellations: @elizabethrobinsontattoos,@mothmilk, @annasagetattoos

Best answer: New Rose Tattoo is woman-owned and did a great job with my tattoos when I lived in PDX.

Best answer: IG @dareoseas — she’s across the river in Vancouver, did my tattoo (the half sleeve vines). Amazing color work.

Best answer: Alice Carrier is another PDX tattooist you might like. She is also booked out but I suppose you could add her to the "check for cancellations" list. She used to work at Wonderland and started her own shop this year. https://www.alicecarrier.com/

Kirsten Holliday is at Wonderland as well and is an incredible artist - I have had sooo many compliments on my tattoo from her. Her books are sort of "always open" (vs the temporary openings the other artists at Wonderland do) - you can submit a request and they are reviewed on a rolling basis. No guarantee she will have availability, but if you like her work it may be worth a shot.
