I want an online biography site

What's the best way to tell the story of your life on your own domain?

I'm doing a massive purge of belongings and old report cards and certificates and things. Is there a good (preferably free!) OS X solution that will let me create a life story? I want to upload images and enter metadata and add tags...

Is there this?

Response by poster: PS. I have a healthy ancestry.com account. I'm looking for a place to organize more personal stuff.

I'm just curious -- could this be done on blogspot?

Maybe a MediaWiki installation?

What's your level of technical ability, and interest in tinkering?

Do you want this stored on your own computer for privacy's sake, or would you consider a cloud offering? You might even use SmugMug/Flickr and make everything private, just to have a good offsite backup.

Some of the genealogy software will take arbitrary digital media, so you could just make a simple family outline and then upload alllllll the images & metadata. Alternately, if it's well-tagged, you could use a "gallery" program.

Response by poster: I’m very tech-savvy and own multiple domains. I’d love an open-source something that I could migrate to my own site.
