Another Movie ID Question - Olympia Dukakis in an old orange car.

Mid 90s, Olympia Dukakis (I think), road movie, orange 60s Dodge Dart or Plymouth Valiant, appeard to be set in the 90s, sidekick was a crazy late teens or early twenties woman. I've checked IMDB and Google and can't find any Olympia Dukakis movie that fits this.

I only saw a couple of scenes on a TV in the background of a restaurant, with no audio.

Here are all of the useful points I can remember:

Olympia Dukakis is driving an old 60s Dodge Dart or Plymouth Valiant (most likely - could be an old Ford or Chevy, I guess). Car was definitely orange. She almost always had a cigarette in her mouth while driving. (I believe it was Olympia Dukakis, but could always be wrong.)

Passenger was a late teens or early twenties white woman. Character was portrayed as that crazy pixie kind of personality. In one scene she steals a doll from a kid and bites the head off.

Movie appears to have been set in the 90s, based on some of the cars I saw in the background.

All of the scenes I saw took place in the Southwest. Specifically Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. But I only saw a few minutes of it, so they probably drove all over the U.S. - it had a very 90s road movie feel to it.

In one scene, the two people in the car pull up to an RV. A blind woman in a wheelchair sitting next to the RV shoots at them. Olympia gets out, lifts up the woman's sunglasses, and punches her in the face.

In another scene, they're driving through Las Vegas (sign for The Frontier is shown). They hit a man in a white suit who's walking a poodle. Man sticks to windshield, poodle escapes harm from under the car.

In another scene they're at the Grand Canyon. The passenger from the car steals a girl's doll and bites its head off. Then while struggling with the girl, the girl falls into the Grand Canyon (I thought I saw her climb out, but not sure.)

Hopefully that's enough to go on, that's all I saw. It doesn't look like a particularly good movie, but I'm still really curious what it was.

This sort of fits - is it Over the Hill?

At first I thought it sounded like it could be a scene from Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City, but on reading inside, probably not. I vaguely recall a road trip through the desert to a whorehouse with the curly-haired redhead (Mona?)... but not the slapstick you described. But now that I have remembered this miniseries exists, it's definitely worth recommending, and pretty ahead of its time for 1993. (The books are also great.)

Response by poster: Thank you! Misadventures of the Dunderheads is it. Made in 2012 with all the quality of a mid 90's low budget road movie.

@Toddles, when I first looked up her filmography, I thought Over the Hill also, but that's Australian.
