Proposal location ideas in Austin

I planned to propose to my girlfriend after a fancy dinner while strolling along Lady Bird lake. And then, she had to have unexpected surgery. Now, she won't be particularly mobile (using a knee scooter) on my planned proposal date. Do you have any location suggestions that have a good view, aren't too crowded, and are easily accessible?

If the clubhouse at Zilker Park isn't in use for an event, there is a beautiful view of the city and it's quiet and wooded. A straight, paved path from the parking lot to the patio overlooking the city.

You can always stroll to one of the Zilker bridges and ask in the middle. Alta's Cafe is another option, depending on which way you are strolling. It's a cafe with a deck on the river.

How about the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center? The State Capitol grounds are lovely at night and there is parking close by on 13th/14th Streets & Colorado. What about in front of the big star at the Bullock Museum? Or the Blanton Museum?

West Lynne St has some fancy restaurants (Jeffrey's, Cipollina, etc). The neighborhood is picturesque and very quiet, and there are a couple of small parks very close by. Not much in terms of sweeping views, if that's what you're looking for.

If I can make a suggestion - do your thing when she is somewhere comfortably sitting, so she doesn't have a helping of "trying to not fall off a knee scooter" mixed in with her happy memory.

County Line on the hill has a nice hill country view from the patio- it does get busy but since the busy times are predictable it wouldn't be too hard to have the patio mostly to yourselves with some thoughtful timing...?

How do you feel about a vineyard? It's not Austin exactly, but just a short drive to the Hill Country. Driftwood Estate is particularly scenic, although I can't vouch for their wine. There are a few others with some nice hilltop tasting rooms, but I can seem to remember the names - do a little searching around Fredericksburg and the Canyon Lake area.

My wife and I were married at Becker Vineyards, which doesn't have soaring hilltop views, but is still very pretty.

Original anonymous poster here: we managed to find a nice bench across from city hall but still on street level with views of the lake and the sunset. I popped the question and she said yes!
