Midi piano chord detection for iPad

Is there a lightweight app that automatically recognises chords from a midi input? If I connect my digital piano via midi to Garageband on my macbook, it automatically displays the chords that I play. The ipad version of Garageband doesn't seem to have this functionality. I'd rather not hook up my macbook every time I want to practice, so I'm wondering if there is a simple (free) app that can do this on my ipad (which I use for sheet music anyway)?

A good start (bear with me here) to get the answer to your question is to call Apple/Garageband customer service. A quick google of "garageband customer service" turns up a number right away.

That said, you may have to call multiple times to get a reliable answer. Having made many questions-about-music gear-and-music-software calls myself, responses can be surprisingly unreliable and outright inaccurate. It always pays to supplement any answers you get from them with your own research. Such research might also include a call to the makers of your digital piano. They may actually be able to tell you the answer faster than the Apple people can. It just comes down to the company and how responsive they are to their customers and how well versed the reps are in their own equipment.
