Need a reputable and affordable dentist in Atlanta

We need a third opinion and have maxed out the dental insurance. Anyone have a dentist who knows their stuff and is t expensive? Details inside.

So in January my husband cracked a tooth, dentist said he needed a root canal. Turns out she broke the base of the tooth and didn't fill it enough and that's why he's been having weird head infections for 8 months. Tooth was so ruined it had to be pulled. Gum is still swollen and infected and is affecting the next tooth. Dentist #1 says root canal or pull it. Dentist #2 says to take stronger antibiotics for 2 more weeks. Pain level is impacting ability to eat so waiting 2 weeks doesn't seem like an option.

At this point, we will be paying out of pocket. I just really want someone who's going to know the best way to keep the tooth and not have another bad root canal and not have to deplete the savings account.

Can you recommend someone in the Atlanta area?

I am not sure about pricing, but Dr. Schopp on Lawrenceville Hwy is absolutely amazing. He has done a ton of work on my family, and did an implant for me.

If you talk to his daughter & front office manager, Christi, & tell her you are paying with cash, she may be able to get you a discount. Or, you can apply for a Care Credit card & then pay it off over time without interest.
