High collar cropped/bolero jackets for work?

I am an executive and wear a lot of sleeveless dresses to work in California. Right now I keep a suit jacket at work and throw it on top of the dress when I have the need. I'd like to up my game with lightweight, cropped/bolero (I'm VERY short) jackets made of interesting fabrics. I like this (high in back, collarless) but am open to anything with the proviso that I have muscular arms, so jackets proportioned for very short women with burly arms are particularly desirable.

I work in a hot climate and get hot easily so lightweight jackets are particularly desirable - but I'll take what I can get!

What is the purpose of the jacket? To "exec" up your outfit? Transition from day to evening? Wear in the office when the A/C is blasting?

I ask because you might also consider scarves as an addition to the arsenal.

Zara recently had a great little cropped fabric moto jacket in pink and in black. It's out of the stores now but still findable on eBay for around $50.

Also check out petite fashion bloggers - Kelly of Alterations Needed and Jean of Extra Petite (both are around 4'11" or 5'0" tall) have worn some great cropped jackets, too.

Response by poster: Jacket is #1 for upper leadership who think that ladies arms should not be bared in the workplace (and who occasionally drop in on my office) and #2 to amp up the outfit for particular meetings.

Definitely not for evening wear.

This suit jacket from JC Penney is cheap, a fun color, petite, and has no collar.

Similar, also from penney, but comes in white

Actually, Penneys has a lot of options, just look through the petite section

I like LaFleur's Jardigan (textured version) for an in-office jacket.

I have not seen a lot of cropped jackets this year, TBH, tho. Ann Taylor has this one but the last time I ordered from them the package never arrived and they refused to refund me because FedEx said it was still "out for delivery"

You might be interested in Corporette.com, if you don't already know it. It's a business fashion website for professional women, mostly lawyers, but a lot of execs also post on there - read the comments as well as the posts. Their collective opinion recently has been that boleros are absolutely out out out, as well as being a bit teenagerish and not promoting the image you want to project as an executive. There are a lot of references to blazers and such for your exact use.
