VOIP client Zoiper every few hours will show reg failed 923 error

When this error is shown, if I just refresh the registration, it works. So I don't believe anything is wrong with the VOIP provider or setup. It seems like something on my phone might be falling asleep, and that breaks the connection until refreshed, or something similar.
I asked Zoiper support and they gave me a stock answer that'd only help w a config error. I asked on Zoiper community and didn't get any responses. So I'm trying my luck with the MeFite hivemind.
