My friend's new boss reminds me of a movie actor, and it's driving me crazy.
My best guess is that the actor is in his mid 50's now and typically plays the villain Principal or Bank Executive in the Sandler-esque films. Here's the bosses public photo:

Argh. He reminds me of two people and I can't think of either of their names or anything they've ever appeared in. One's first name is David, I think.

One I was thinking of is David Rasche. He's younger in that photo but in his 50s or 60s now.

Doug Savant's too pretty. I'm leaning toward Christopher McDonald after looking at the pic.

William Atherton... thank you. That was the other guy I was trying to remember.
Christopher McDonald was Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore, so it's probably him.

At last, my encyclopedic knowledge of character actors leads to happiness rather than despair!

Irrelevantfilter: Once upon a time, I had a huge crush on Atherton and through the vagaries of fate, I found myself standing next to him at a party. He was standing there alone, looking slightly pissed off. I couldn't think of a single thing to say and eventually ended up wandering away. He was still standing there alone looking annoyed.

He's got the upper lip and eye-crinkles of Keifer Sutherland, a bit.

No, he's a clone of Garrison Hershberger, the evil funeral director in Six Feet Under.
