Quaint stopover between Amboise and Vezac

Traveling with the family through France in June. We will be driving from Amboise to Vezac and we're looking for suggestions for a cute little stopover for the night somewhere in between.

So far, we've only considered Crozant which looks good but we're still looking. We've also searched in vrbo quite a bit but most places don't allow a single night booking during peak season.

We're flexible on the route we take from Amboise, and can only stay the one night.

Our ideal place is a smaller town with character, has open grassy spaces where the kids can run, and ideally a place where they could swim. Thanks!

They don't seem terribly far away from each other - is there a reason you want to stop over? Otherwise I would hit up a site like campingfrance.com.

Also, you might want to check the plus beaux villages pages, assuming you speak some level of French, and see what comes up.
