What is it? Identify the object. It is heavy for its size (2 lb), the housing is metal, the handle is wood, it has a SPST switch that makes a satisfying thunk and the electric motor runs and turns a threaded jawn inside the chrome nozzle-y looking thing. Marked Kenmore cat no 559 8392.

Could it be an antique heat gun?
On edit: Nevermind, I missed what you said about something turning in the chromey bit. That wouldn't be a heat gun, then.

Response by poster: Hand mixer seems possible, the beater or whisk is long gone though. I forgot to add we've tried to find info on the web, like a catalog scan or magazine ad, with no luck.
