Where can I find matching pajamas for my differently aged children?

Looking for matching pajamas for my 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Between the gender difference and the age difference, I'm having trouble finding anything affordable. Anyone have any ideas?

Every year, we give the kids matching pajamas on Xmas eve. They love them and wear them all year long, it's a favorite family tradition. This year, however, my daughter is a size 6, while my son is still in a 4T. We used to always get them at the Gap or Old Navy, but now that my daughter is out of toddler sizes, I can't seem to find pajamas that match. They don't have to be identical but of the same theme, and somewhat gender neutral. Winter themed is ok but not Christmas specific. Looking to spend around $20 each... Pajamagram and similar are just crazy expensive. Do you know where I might find them something to keep the tradition alive?

Maybe the boys' department of Target? They have a lot of the same pajamas (mostly themed pajamas, so they could both be Iron Man or something) in every conceivable size, that I've seen when I shop for my nephew.

Gymboree had some cute options when I was in there last weekend. If their winter PJs are still 40% off, that would put them in your pricerange.

No promises, but take a look at Carter's. They definitely have things in your daughter's size, although I'm not sure they match up with the younger kids designs that they have.

Huh. Everywhere I've ever bought kids' pajamas has the same designs up through at least 6x, and many of the boys' styles are more or less gender neutral. Target (theirs go up to near-adult sizes!), Carter's, Children's Place, Costco. Costco is among the best for "having all the sizes right there, of the one thing you are looking at" plus value for the money.

There's some overlap in Carters 4T and child 4 sizing, if you think your son could get away with something a little baggy. There are a few girls pajamas that are relatively neutral (cupcakes, foxes) if pastels aren't an issue.

Aw Target has sets sized not only for size 4 and 6 kids' sizes but also for adults. Get the ugly sweater one! I want that and we don't even celebrate Christmas. Or, with no Christmas. For those you'd get an x-small and a small.

Hanna Andersson would be my recommendation too, their pjs are currently on sale and great quality. Still around $30 rather than $20 but I find them worth the money.

Old Navy has striped unisex onesie/union suit pj's that my girls (4 & 6) love.

I'm really enamored lately with primary.com. They have all plain cotton solids. Seems like you could mix and match in a fun way. They are even doing a "free PJs" offer when combined with other clothing.

I have checked a lot of these places and haven't had luck... sometimes they have the right kind of thing but then my kids' sizes aren't available. (I love Hanna Andersson stuff, but they were pretty sold out even a few weeks ago.)

A few of these leads are promising... there must be something in here that will work. Thanks again!

Hanna Andersson would stretch your budget, but they really are the most comfortable, durable pjs ever. Soft cotton, flatlock seams, long tops to keep bellies covered through the tossing and turning anticipation of Christmas.

I personally don't think the polyester ones are worth it (any of the gowns). They don't pill up quite as badly as cheap-o Target pjs, but they still do and I won't spend $$$ on them.

Depending on your time and craftiness, what about buying pajamas that fit your daughter but are too big for your son, and then taking in the ones for your son? (TBH I'm not sure how much larger a typical 6yo is than a typical 4yo, so this may or may not be feasible.)

Macy's had "family pajamas" of all sizes in their women's underwear department a week or so ago. Pajamagram.com has lots, too.

How about these? Leveret pajamas tend to run small, but otherwise quality is similar to Gap I find. We buy them all the time.

Amazon has some, I was just looking at this the other day. Here are a set from Sleepytime PJs, and there are related links to other sets of specifically "matching Christmas pajamas for the whole family" by the same company. They have matching ones for dolls and pets too. I can't speak to the quality.
