Retail/Consumer Price Index Comparison

My government produces a monthly breakdown of the RPI - I'd like to find other countries that provide the same level of information.
Each month, the IoM government releases details of the RPI and inflation rate, along with (the interesting bit!) a breakdown of the average retail prices for the items used to calculate the overall rate; latest report here (pdf).
I've had a hunt through Google to find other places that produce this information - every (major?) country must gather the information at the very least, but I can't find any comparative data.
I came across the Wiki article about what RPI is, and from here there was a link to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics sive BLS.gov (Yuck! Horrific site!) Similar information appears to be available (pdf) but not to quite the same level of detail that I can discern.
Perhaps the level of detail provided by the Manx government is unusual, and they do not specifically have to go to such lengths in their report...?
Have any of the AskMe hive mind ever come across this kind of detail for your locale? I think that it would give a fascinating insight into the economy (and perhaps quality of life) for different countries, and would help set my mind at rest whether us locals really are being screwed financially!

Is this what you're looking for for Canadian cities? The link to the Guide has methodology info.
On the broader provincial stats side, pages like this break down individual food (or other) categories.
I would be very surprised if there were any statistics gathering body that didn't have such a surfeit of info - it's what's available for free that will differ from country to country. If you skim what's available from the pay portion of Stats Can, I'd say you could likely find excruciating detail.
