The VPN service I use has blacklisted a number of torrent sites. Do you know if they all VPN services have done the same and if there is a way around it?
Get a seedbox. Torrents to seedbox, then ftp from seedbox to home computer.

seedbox! At $15/yr this company has been reliable. Offshore has advantages too.

Private Internet Access does not, or at least did not block KAT as of last night.

2nd'ing pH's recommendation for PIA. It works pretty well, they really commit to privacy, above all, and unrestricted access to the internet 2nd.
The issue I've had is that I can't seem to get decent speeds using the straight VPN. I can get decent speeds using their sock5 proxy server but that isn't quite as secure.
I deemed seedboxes as too expensive for the volume I need (though I'm going to look hard at Sammyo's link) so I've been tinkering with Usenet and that has been working pretty well. Information tends to be a little bit harder to find because it's a very old part of the internet and because the first two rules of usenet are "don't talk about usenet."

I liked usenet for a while recently but can't recommend it generally as it's insanely spammy on many levels and pretty clumsy to work with.

TorGuard is aimed at torrent users.

Happy TorGuard user here. (I can neither confirm nor deny that I know what a "torrent" is. However, I have not found them to block any specific ports or protocols.)
