Chaise Longue, Not Chaise Litterbox.

We recently purchased a lovely chaise longue and I'm anxiously looking forward to many evenings curled up on it with a book. As such, I would like to do everything possible to keep our cat from destroying it when I'm not looking. Please help me find something to keep it covered and clean!
One of our cats, Magnus, (mandatory photo here) completely destroyed our microfibre sofa a few years ago by essentially using it as his own personal litterbox. Apparently microsuede just feels great on his butt? Who knows how cats work, anyway?
Currently, our furnishings are either leather or wood - and there have been no problems whatsoever with him using them inappropriately - so we swore we wouldn't get any more fabric-covered furniture with which to tempt him... but this chaise longue was SO perfect that we're hoping we can find a way to keep him from befouling it.
To emphasize - the cat in question has been thoroughly checked by our vet and we know he is healthy (he just has issues stemming from living in an abusive situation for many years before we adopted him) We cannot expect his behaviour to be changed. We need to work around him on this.
The chaise longue was purchased from a consignment shop and is in excellent condition. It's covered in a microsuede fabric - and feels exactly like what our cat destroyed last time. His butt will remember this fabric. As far as I'm aware it has not been treated with anything - no Scotchguard or similar product - but I have no way of knowing with 100% certainty. I do not want to use Scotchguard or anything similar on it.
We have a total of 4 cats and two dogs in the house. I would like to find a way to cover and protect the entire chaise longue when it is not in use (by a human).
Ideally, the covering would be reasonably attractive (so, not a blue plastic tarp) but we don't need anything fancy. It also needs to be:
- totally waterproof (specifically, urine proof)
- somewhat soft (so cats can sleep on it if they'd like to do so)
- machine washable AND dryable*
- thick enough that cat claws are not likely to damage it or impact the waterproofing
- relatively inexpensive OR very much worth the cost
* If it's inexpensive enough that I can purchase several, I can live without the machine dryable option - but if I'm only buying one, I won't have the ability to wait a few days for something to air dry. I need to be able to wash it regularly, not just if/when there are 'incidents'.
Bonus points if I can purchase it in a store in Canada or through an online Canadian site (the USD to CAD exchange rate is awful right now..)
I'd most appreciate first hand experience - there seem to be a lot of pet throws, sofa covers, waterproof throws, waterproof picnic blankets, etc. out there with prices ranging from $20 to almost $200. The reviews are all over the place and many aren't specific to people using them on furniture to protect surfaces from pets, either.

Response by poster: We ended up getting a Feliway diffuser and covered the chaise longue with a vinyl tablecloth and a flat sheet. So far, so good!! Thanks jbenben and jamaro!

I know Surefit makes waterproof microfiber covers. You might try that.
