Interesting stories of court cases

Again, writing a story (well, stories) which takes place in a law office. I'd like to request something more specific … for interesting, funny, absurd court cases or clients can you tell me about.

Man changes his name to Her Majesty the Queen. Man sues the government for back wages. Man then sues a low-income legal assistance group for not helping him in that lawsuit for discrimination against the mentally ill.

I would recommend picking up used law school casesbooks, especially a textbook on Professional Responsibility. Also check out books for new lawyers, such as Essential Lawyering Skills. Lots of "boring" detail, but therein lies fertile ground for stories.

Most bar associations have a monthly publication -- in Colorado it's the Colorado Lawyer -- and those publications usually include ethics decisions from the Presiding Disciplinary Judge (or whatever your state's equivalent might be. Good lawyering tends to be a little boring, but the disciplinary decisions read like tabloid summaries.
