Recommendations for an answering service for a small business?

I run a small business and I'm looking for an answering service that can handle scheduling when I am unavailable. Does anyone have any recommendations for answering services they use?

I own a small plumbing & heating business and I answer the phones myself most of the time. I would like an answering service for the times I'm unavailable or away, specifically for an upcoming set of vacations in the next couple months but also for overnights the rest of the year. I wouldn't require much beyond answering any incoming calls, scheduling non-emergency calls or forwarding emergency calls to myself or another employee.

There doesn't seem much online in the way of reviews or recommendations for a specific service (the last AskMeFi questions were in 2013 and 2007 and neither offered any recommendations) but before I go the top Google result route I'd like to know if anyone has any positive experience with answering services for their business?

Our startup just signed up with AnswerConnect. I wasn't part of the vetting process, but I do know we went with them because someone had a good experience with them at a previous company!
