Saw a BuzzFeed video. Article of clothing. (The gray one. On Alison [???].) Seek it IRL.

Any suggestions on where it's from, or similar work-style sweaters / cardigans / whatever-it's-called like it In The Real World?

Best answer: Those are called an Open Front cardigan. They're very common and often a thin t-shirt material. Here's a gray one. Here's the link to the search.
