Why can't I connect to Facebook? Got a gremlim in my system

For some reason my U-verse modem will not let me connect to facebook. When I use a VPN I am able to connect but it just times without it. Every other site I have tried has not been a problem. I have had others try to sign on to their accounts both hard wired and wirelessly and the same results ATT tech support has hit a wall in being able to help me with this and that includes having a tech out to swap the modem. Seems to be a head scratcher for everyone. Is there an answer in the Hive?

Have tried switching your DNS server prefs? Try Google's and see if that helps.

Hi, I was having the same problem two days ago (but I'm on Mediacom) and yesterday it started working again as mysteriously as it had stopped. I did switch my DNS to Google's but it still wasn't working for a while after that change. I couldn't access FB at all on my iPad or iPhone (unless I turned off wifi - it worked fine over cellular) in either safari or the app, and only after several tries on my desktop. So I guess my suggestion is time? Maybe FB was messing with their DNS settings or something.
