Help me find my dream socks!

My favorite line of socks has been discontinued and I would like to see what my options are for a replacement. Basically, I like solid black boot socks with plenty of cushioning.

Wicking is expected. Antimicrobial is a big plus. Patterns and logos are a huge minus. Cost is really not a concern. Thorlo has been my brand and I'm looking at potentially either https://www.thorlo.com/socks/mcb/404 or https://www.thorlo.com/socks/ms/305 but if there is something better out there I have no compunction at all about switching brands for a higher quality product.

Depending on whether calf socks work for you, I cannot say enough good things about the comfort of Bombas socks, now always my go to sock choice, plus they donate lots. So I'm OK with their logo.

You can pry my Smartwool socks from my cold dead toes. I have about 20 pairs of black ones.

Seconding Smartwool. Most comfortable socks I've ever owned.

That said, they wear out within a year and they're kind of pricey to replace. I recently switched to Darned Tough socks, which are almost (but not quite) as comfortable as Smartwool and have a lifetime warranty that I suspect I'll be too lazy to use when they finally do wear out.

Both brands are available in basic black with only a small logo.

Smartwool are good, but avoid the dressier styles. I find those don't last me more than six months. I usually get the Smartwool PhD and find they last much longer.

Icebreaker also make good socks, but I find they're much tighter than the Smartwool.

Going to join the Smartwool chorus here.

Complete opposite experience for me. My first couple of ones are just now starting to die, and I've had those for 4 years.

Yeah, I should probably have mentioned that I have like five pairs of regular-use socks that I rotate, washing in between wears, of course.
