Divide and Conquer

My Google Fu is failing me. I want a large-ish ornament to act as a divider between two rooms that are open plan. There is a credenza at the dividing point, and I would like the ornament / divider to sit on top of it. Is there a word / phrase for what I am looking for?

I have seen this kind of thing in hotels to divide up one part of a suite from another - typically they are screen-type affairs that stand on the credenza, or large wooden / metal ornaments that are mostly flat (and in many cases wouldn't be out of place hung on the wall - but in this case have a stand).

The phrase "table top room divider" got me this and a few more.

It also just occurred to me that ornamental fireplace screens might do the trick.

Response by poster: OK - I have been corrected a bit... apparently some large ornament-type thing might also work - it doesn't have to be a complete screen.

Would somethng hung from the ceiling above the credenza give enough of a suggestion of dividing? Like a mobile or light fixture.

Tall plants on the credenza might also work.

I love plants anywhere, but if you need more privacy I've seen rice paper screens made of light weight wood suspended on small chains. Very elegant and easy to make to the size you need, and they don't block the light.

And a couple plants.

A jardiniere is a large ornamental vase for plants or flowers, and some are wide. If you want to do the plant route, that might be a helpful term. I googled jardiniere divider and found some interesting options.
