What vintage model of International Harvester refrigerator is this? It's the one that Monica, from Friends uses. I love it!

Best answer: IH made several fridges, and subcontracted out a couple as well. Their internal documentation of models, years and production ranges was abysmal…to complicate things, I don't think they used model numbers on their fridges. Even classifying more common International Harvester tractors, delivery vans and trucks can be a bit of a challenge.

Your best bet is to start cruising International Harvester forums (probably more geared towards the tractors and other oddities, not the Scout stuff) and ask around there. I would start with Binder Planet and Old IHC. There are some other sites more geared towards tractor restoration and other farm equipment (which is where the fridges found themselves most of the time). They'll at least be able to get you in the right direction for more of the actual fridge info.

Another track you could take, would be to contact some of the vintage appliance restoration folks out there. I've heard good things about the creatively named "Vintage Appliances." They have an IH fridge in stock, but not quite the one you've pictured. They might know more about the differences in the IH fridge line.

I will say, that these do come up from time to time on IH BBS's and at swap-meets…I have heard they're quite temperamental. Restoration might be the way to go, if you're looking for one.
