Acquiring Canadian Credit Report While Living Overseas

How can I receive a Canadian credit report/score while living overseas with no fixed address in Canada?

I've been living overseas for 13 years and will be returning to Canada in early 2015. I have maintained accounts and credit at banking institutions in Canada while living abroad. As such, I currently have no residential address in Canada.

All credit score sites (Equifax, TransUnion, etc.) require a Canadian address when applying for a report. What are my options in terms of receiving an accurate credit report while still abroad? I need a report in order to secure accommodation prior to my return.

Have you tried requesting it by mail?

A few ideas:
  • Ask a Canadian friend/acquaintance/family member to receive it and forward it on.
  • Ask a Canadian MeFi to receive it and forward it on. (I'd do it, but I'm no longer in Canada).
  • Use a mail forwarding service to get an address, then direct the credit score to that address. e.g. http://www.canadianaddress.ca/rates.html (first hit I found on Google - no personal experience with them)
Good Luck!
