www.achewood.com
www.toothpastefordinner.com

these are the funniest, most innovative comics I've read, but they're not the sort of thing that follow the path laid out by syndicated comics. IE, you may hate them. Your loss.

Seconding Perry Bible Fellowship. The only online comic that has ever made me laugh out loud.

Double recommendation for Perry Bible Fellowship and Achewood, though you will have to read up on Achewood to really appreciate it. Starting here and moving on will help a lot towards you picking up the nuances and extremely well done humor.

This is perhaps a better page to read Perry Bible Fellowship comics.

Oh yes Scary Go Round. Also Bob the Angry Flower, Wigu (and Overcompensating), Order of the Stick. It really helps if you're into (or were into in my case) Dungeons and Dragons for the last one, but I think it's pretty funny in any case.

oh my god, achewood is my current obsession.

i've read through the entire archives twice -- the second time just to make sure i didn't miss any alt tag hilariousness.

I can't believe no one's mentioned Mac Hall and Ctrl-Alt-Del. Definitely best of the Web when it comes to cartoons.

I know a number of people who would also recommend Penny Arcade as well. From what I've seen, it's not bad.

I second SinFest. I also love me some typical daily comics, like Frazz and Get Fuzzy.

Girl Genius is a totally hilarious steampunk comic that used to run as a print comic book, now all the print ones are coming out for the web and there's three new full color pages a week. The art is great thanks to Phil Foglio.

My top four are the already mentioned Achewood, Scary Go Round, Dinosaur Comics, and Perry Bible Fellowship. All are high-quality, shenanigans-wise.

Penny Arcade, already mentioned, is great, but it's one of those comics that is popular enough among its target audience that, if you're not already reading it, it may be because its not for you.

I'll add Nothing Nice to Say.

second diesel sweeties. start from the beginning. it's a little weird at first, but if you're between 20 and 35 and even the slightest bit nerdy, you'll dig it.
