Show me what I've been missing

What other web-comics will I like?
I can't get enough of web-comics.
I've got the feeds for xkcd, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, 1.0Fte, Buttersafe, Toothpaste for Dinner, and would like more similar to these, if they exist.
I don't want episodic comics, just single/multi panel ones that offer their pay-off straightaway.

Perry Bible Fellowship
Savage Chickens
A Softer World
less like what you asked for, but hands down the funniest, IMO:
Hyperbole and a Half

I'm subscribed to xkcd, SMBC, and Buttersafe. Here are some similar ones from my Google Reader feed:

Awkward Zombie, by Katie Tiedrich. She started it when she was in high school. (She's most of the way through college now.)
Katie got hired to do a serious comic called "Aikonia". It's a teaser for an MMO which is in development.

Questionable Content
Achewood, the gold standard; not updating much these days, but years of enjoyment if you go back to the beginning.

New to me but looks fun: See Mike Draw.
I'm not sure if The Abominable Charles Christopher is what you are looking for. It has several 1-shot comics (like today) but also alternates with ongoing storylines.

Best answer: In addition to most of the ones suggested, in no particular order:
The Non-Adventures of Wonderella pays off every time.
Basic Instructions pays off in every panel.
The Book of Biff is a minor heir to the Far Side, as is the same guy's Maximumble.
Subnormality is text-dense, but so very worth the effort.
Doghouse Diaries is pretty good.
Cyanide & Happiness is decidedly for a particular skewed viewpoint, so YMMV.

Loading Artist reminds me a lot of Buttersafe. It's relatively new and still working out some kinks on posting schedule, but there are some pretty hilarious single-issue ones that made me laugh out loud when I saw them. It's vaguely episodic if you follow from the beginning, but I like the somewhat meta approach of "a webcomic about trying to make a webcomic" feel it has.

I like Girls With Slingshots, though it is not always work-safe.
Julia Wertz's Museum of Mistakes is a gem, though I wish she had time to update more frequently.
Gemma Correll's Daily Diaries is one of my favorite things on the intertubes.
Keith Knight's K Chronicles rock like a particularly rocking hurricane.
So does Secret Asian Man.
I love Sinfest, but it is not for everyone, it seems.

Response by poster: These a excellent so far - thanks guys.
I forgot to mention that I already have Basic Instructions and Cyanide and Happiness in my feeds.
It'll take me a while to best answer these...would like to do them all credit. Thanks again :)

Best answer: The updates are very sporadic, but The Oatmeal.
All the others I follow are either already listed, or very episodic, and thus do not qualify.

Just FYI: Kate Beaton's Hark! A Vagrant is on perma-hiatus. If you follow her tumblr you'll still get all the goodness '9as well as some non-H!AV comics) but you may have to sift through some non-comic posts.

The Devil's Panties is somewhat episodic, but not really, every day is pretty fun in and of itself.
