where i can i find pretty, affordable and high quality futon (specifically platform) bed+mattress in new york city?

i'm looking for something along these lines, and I know there are a lot of disreputable places around. i am looking to ideally pay no more than $250, and bonus for "natural" and reusable, sustainable bed (ie bamboo).

I don't know of a place, but I know you can order latex cutouts online. These are cheap and high quality. In fact, my girlfriend and I bought a really expensive mattress and then switched to these.

Response by poster: xammerboy: can you suggest any sites, and tell me more about what they are/how they feel?

take a walk on 14th street... some of those futon/bed stores have interesting things towards the back of the store, or in the basement etc.

Isn't there a big futon place on Houston/Allen, with a huge sign? "Matresses here! Futons! Yeeaaargghh!" or, you know, something like that. A quick google turned up this, looks like a contender.
