This flicker is sitting on a plant. What is it? Here's where the bird may be found.

Yup, it's cholla.

You can buy dried pieces of it, if you want. They're often sold on sites for wedding-themed craft supplies (people use them to make centerpieces) and in pet stores, because they're used in a lot of terrariums and even aquariums.
