Aftershave befuddlement

What kind of aftershave product should I be using?

Any recommendations for men's facial aftershave products that help prevent skin irritation and are UNSCENTED? The product doesn't need to be moisturizing necessarily, in fact I might prefer non-moisturizing since I don't have dry skin.

My husband likes Kiehl's bump cream. It has kind of an astringent, medicinal scent.

Plain old rubbing alcohol works. It evaporates instantly so there's no lingering smell.

I use Neutrogena "Triple Protect" face lotion, which has a faint scent. It soothes without being smelly and gives a little sun protection as well.

It absorbs fast and is not greasy. On windy, dry days it's really helpful.

I use Lucky Tiger, it does have a light citrus scent but disipates within 10 minutes.

Do you have gnarly, ingrown hair issues? If so, Tend Skin is your new best friend. It's somewhat enhanced rubbing alcohol, and it stings like hell, but that shit works.

I like the Baxter of California After Shave Balm. In the past I've also liked the Nancy Boy Cooling After-Shave Gel. I'm not a big fan of scented after shaves and neither of these bothered me.

Girl here, seconding Tend Skin if you get ingrowns/bumps.

Shaveworks The Cool Fix is also great for ingrowns/bumps. It smells nicer (like aftershave), stings less, and is a gel that feels soothing. You can also apply it with your fingers instead of a cotton ball, so you're not leaving little wads of cotton that catch on your stubble.

Blarg, I missed where you said unscented. Tend Skin smells like rubbing alcohol, but then evaporates.

I think it's going to be hard to find a completely unscented aftershave. I love Trumper's Skin Food. There is a light, light scent--it's basically unnoticeable, unlike aftershaves that are meant to be smelled. Feels great, doesn't sting. I buy a 500ml bottle and use it for years.

Witch Hazel. Be careful with rubbing alcohol.

Thayer's witch hazel. There is an aftershave version which is a ton stronger than their normal stuff, but you'll probably need to buy it online.

I'm prone to shaving bumps on my legs and such, and salicylic acid is the magic bump-prevention ingredient for me. I use this astringent from Neutrogena, which is meant to be used on the face anyway; it's not fragrance-free but the scent is medicinal and light. Salicylic acid is in a lot of face treatments, so you'll have a lot to choose from.

There's a homemade Tend Skin recipe floating around the Internet if the price gives you pause. Tend Skin contains salicylic acid's cousin, acetylsalicylic acid - aka aspirin. Some people get really good results with a couple uncoated aspirin dissolved in water/rubbing alcohol/etc.

In for witch hazel. I avoid alcohol as it dries the skin.

I've been using Nivea After-Shave Balm for years and can't imagine using anything else. Fragrance/dye/alcohol-free.

I get my Thayer's from some online store (Vitamax? Vitacost, maybe?) and I use it every day.
