You've got that autumn feeling.

Autumn/fall is my favorite season and I love the feel and experience of the leaves changing color, the chill in the air, and traditional fall activities. The episode "Kiss and Tell" from Gilmore Girls, for example, centers around an autumn festival and has this sort of atmosphere. Could you give me some movies/documentaries/tv shows/episodes that also embody autumn?
Best answer: Alfred Hitchcock The Trouble with Harry (1955)
(snip from Amazon review:)...concerns a pesky corpse that becomes a problem for a quiet, Vermont neighborhood. Shirley MacLaine makes her film debut as one of several characters who keep burying the body and finding it unburied again. Hitchcock clearly enjoys conjuring the autumnal look and feel of the story...

Best answer: The Sterile Cuckoo (aka "Pookie").
Another would be the more recent "Far From Heaven" which is on this British Film Institute listicle, Ten Great Films Set During Autumn.

Autumn in New York
I don't recall much in the way of autumn in this movie, but I hated it and may have blocked out parts of it. Most of the scenes are indoors.
Hocus Pocus is a great film and has a lot of outdoor fall scenes. Really, any Halloween themed movie should fit the bill as long as it isn't too into the scary aspects. Something Wicked This Way Comes and Practical Magic come to mind.

For some weird reason I have always loved movies centered around New England universities or prep schools, and they invariably include beautiful autumn scenes.
Dead Poets Society and
School Ties
are two examples that spring to mind. Maybe even
Rudy IIRC
And who could forget St. Elmo's Fire?

Donnie Darko is most concerned with the "chill in the air" part, but it does a fine rendering of a small town October.

Kind of a terrible movie, but Sweet November.

Best answer: What about "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"? One of my fall favorites.

Best answer: When Harry Met Sally and You've Got Mail both have fantastic New-York-in-the-fall sequences. Sigh.
