Size queen!

I am terrible at visualizing size differences, but was able to get around it by using Sizeasy.com (plugging in dimensions to generate images you could compare against each other). Unfortunately, the site is now dead. Are there any other sites that do the same thing, or are similar enough in nature?

There's always cockeyed.com's height and weight chart (SFW, don't worry!).

MyBodyGallery.com:
This site is here as an accurate reflection of what real women look like. All women.

WHY?

A recent study found that 95% of non-eating disordered women overestimate the size of their hips by 16% and their waists by 25%, yet the same women were able to correctly estimate the width of a box.

Response by poster: Perhaps I should have been more specific - I want to compare three dimensional items, not bodies. For example, comparing the size of an iPhone vs a desk.

Alternate idea: Get yourself a ruler or a small measuring tape (one of the paper ones from Ikea is nice and portable, and free). Get a little pocket notepad.

Measure things, sketch them in the notepad, and write their dimensions on the sketch. After a while, you'll start predicting the measurements before whipping out the ruler. And you'll get really good at it.

Measure your thumb-width, your hand-span, your arm-span, your cubit, your foot and your shoe. When you find something that's near any of those dimensions, practice knowing that. Practice realizing that.

When you find something that's an interesting multiple or divisor of another thing, sketch them side by side. The 20oz bottle of pop on my desk is exactly as tall as the distance from my wrist to my longest fingertip, which almost exactly the length of 4x AA batteries end-to-end. (They're exactly 2 inches long.)

I know that my car, from mirror-to-mirror, is as wide as my arm-span if I fold my fingers at the second knuckle. This lets me easily judge tight squeezes before scraping the paint.

Who needs websites? :)
