I want to mount a large-ish, irregularly shaped tile shard on my wall. How do I do it without damaging the tile?

Adhesive plate holders should work. I've used them and they hold well and don't hurt the plates.

Response by poster: I like the idea, but I have a feeling that I won't be able to control the tile's orientation on the wall, because it'll rotate around the nail (since it's not symmetrical like a plate)

Response by poster: Amanda: You're right, that should fix that problem...

3M Command picture strips. They're like velcro, and you put one on the tile and one on the wall and stick them together.

I have a tile hung above my desk at work like this. i used 2 medium and 2 small and it is not going ANYWHERE. (I also leveled it when I put it up, they are easy to adjust once stuck on).

I would use a plate hanger, the kind with a spring.

I made plate hangers once with bendable wire.

That way you could accommodate the unique shape.

Glue/epoxy a piece of wire to the back and hang on a nail or screw in the wall.

Could you get a picture box frame to put it in?

I've re-bent plate hangers to fit, or, use mirror hangers.
