Specific Ideas for a November Date

Where Relaxation and Romance Unite!

This November, I'm assembling a couple of different activities for my fiancé and I to engage in. Something to really treat him during a busy, sometimes stressful time of year. I have two specific activities in mind, but am having trouble finding locations of either within one general region. We're located in the Bay Area (California), just outside of Oakland.

The first activity of interest is a massage. I've found many great reviews for various places, mainly in Oakland.

The second activity is a candlelight dinner. Romantic, and perhaps more on the quiet side. I've found good reviews for a few restaurants, all in San Francisco.

Ideally, I'm looking for a massage parlor and a restaurant that are reasonably close to one another. Walking distance would be nice, but we do own a car, and would be driving to the first location, regardless. Both places do not need to be in Oakland or San Francisco, just within proximity of each other if possible.

The most prominent aspect I'm trying to be mindful of is budget. When imagining a romantic dinner, I can see myself able to afford about $70. Perhaps a bit more, depending on the price of the massage prior.

To sum up everything: I'm looking for a massage parlor and a romantic restaurant within proximity of one another, with both locations being relatively inexpensive.

Any reason why you don't take that money and make a nice candle lit dinner at home and give each other sexy massages afterwards? With a budget that limited I would think that would get you the most bang for your buck.

Just as an FYI, I think asking around for a "massage parlor" might give you reccomendations for a sexier night for your husband than you intend...

I have always liked Skates on the Bay in the Berkeley Marina. You get a view of San Francisco, but you're not obliged to go, park and hassle around, also, it's cheaper than a San Francisco restaurant might be. A bit spendier than $70, unless you mean $70 per person, in which case, you'll be fine.

There's a Massage School in Emeryville where they do $35 massages.

Then home again, home again, jiggidy-jig!

I'm guessing what you are looking for is a massage therapist.

OTOH, YKINMK, YKIO. If that's the case, it's not clear if you are looking for a parlor that takes couples.

Response by poster: Thanks for all of the suggestions so far. Yohko makes a good point. Yes, I am looking for a massage parlor/therapist that takes couples. Not looking for happy endings.
