Can anyone recommend a good massaging back cushion?

My friend wants one for Christmas, but I don't know anything about them and we're a bit nervous about spending $70 on a chunk of vibrating foam going on a few epinions reviews alone. Does anyone here have one they're happy with? It needs to be orderable online, and better if it's under $100.

Simple vibrating cushions are, IMHO, a useless waste of money. I have experienced the HoMedics Shiatsu Massage Cushion, which you can get at Walgreens or Linens and Things for $99. The kneading ball rollers are powerful and feel awesome. It's on my list. (There's also a more expensive version that I haven't tried.)

Response by poster: Yeah I feel that way too, but he said he'd used one at his parents that he loved. I'm guessing it was more like the one you linked, which looks great, thanks.

May not be exactly what your looking for, but my chiropractor ex-girlfriend has me and my whole family hooked on the Thumper Mini-Pro 2

Go try one out at The Sharper Image if you have one near you.

Don't get the HoMedics vibrating model. Not really satisfying, though it does contain a heating pad. The Shiatsu model that Tubes mentions looks much better.

Get something returnable and try it out yourself before deciding whether to give it to your friend.
