Where talk music?

MFers where do you like to go to discuss or read discussions about music, specifically modern electronic music? I don't mean where to read articles, reviews, interviews; those are nice, and I read those websites, and I know most of those websites have forums... but most of them don't seem to be very good, and to be honest I haven't really, really explored them. Is there anywhere that consistently has a high level discourse from users? Or is it all 90% signatures, images, and yelling "BIG TRACK" ...

I also like to ask questions - what did so and so mean when he said such and such in this interview? Or when she said that all of X from Y since Z sounds like that? Where in the hell did THAT vocal sample come from...

Response by poster: examples of places I read (save forums): Resident Advisor, Tiny Mix Tapes, Little White Earbuds, XLR8R, Electronic Beats Magazine, the Quietus, Wire Magazine, and so on...

AND I am open to the fact that maybe I have just been missing out on great forums at those places

Best answer: Check out Rate Your Music. Highly active discussion board about all types of music.

Check out these threads for starters

Best answer: I Love Music is notorious as a place where the encyclopedically knowledgeable, unapologetically opinionated, and occasionally just plain trollish hang out, but if you want to have a discussion about [super-obscure thing that six people know about] in great detail, it's worth checking out. I used to be a regular but, in the end, couldn't stomach the snark.

turntable.fm is a great place to talk about music while listening to said music.

Best answer: Look for production forums if you want to get into the hows and whys of EDM.

Best answer: cosign ilxor especially because deep electronica is probably the plurality of discussions there

Response by poster: Thanks, I will get to checking out Ilxor...

(I don't think XLR8R has forums)
