Sony a57 + Sigma 18-250 Lens: How do I use lens correction in Aperture?

Forgive me if this is more obvious than I expect, but I recently purchased a Sony a57 Camera, which I really, really enjoy. I will be doing some traveling, and purchased a Sigma 18-250mm 1:3.5-6.3 Macro HSM lens to pair with my camera. I have read that many people will use "lens profiles" to correct their images when they import them into Aperture. How can I find a lens profile for my lens?

Sidenote: I've noticed that the Sony a57 has profiles of its own... could it be doing lens correction on its own?

Aperture doesn't have native lens correction. It may be able to use your camera's profile in the raw conversion if that data is included in the raw file, but only if Apple decides to support your particular model. You may be in luck, as your camera appears on this list.

Your best bet is to use an external editor like DxO or PTLens or to get a third party plugin, a few of which are listed here under Noise and Lens Correction.

Keep this in mind when shooting: If you plan on doing a lot of distortion correction later, leave some space around your subject when composing your shots because there will be cropping involved in the correction process.
