So from the one song I'm listening to, this is sweet, low voiced, alternative-ish country with simple guitars and a minimal twang?

Maybe:

The Be-Good Tanyas, Lucinda Williams, and maybe some of the Clare Bowen & Sam Palladio cuts off the Nashville soundtrack?.

Sorry if that's all too obvious; it's a kind of music I love but only listen to on occasion.

Also, I just realized why this song was itching my brain: the opening guitar puts me very much in mind of Howie Day's Collide.

May seem a little dated (and maybe too twangy?) by comparison but honestly the first name that popped into my head was Iris DeMent.
