Need to buy a blazer or suit in NYC

I left my standard blue blazer on another continent and will be speaking in front of a group of 400 people tomorrow in Manhattan. I'll be there by 1pm and don't know where to get something that fits. I'm thinking of a) finding something else a bit more stylish, b) would buy a suit if necessary but doubt it could be ready in time, but I'm open to that if there is a great recommendation.

What's your budget like? Is this like " hitting up every Housing Works in Manhattan." or " Walk into Brooks Brothers* and say you want a blue blazer?"

( well if money is no object, then go to Freeman's Sporting Club, obviously.)

Head to Macy's in Herald Square. You'll find affordable separates there and some really snappy things. The store is huge and well-stocked.

Ask the salesperson if they have a coupon. There's ALWAYS a coupon and it's usually good for 20% off.

The Century 21 on Lincoln square has a decent men's section and isn't as insane/crowded as the one at WTC.

Also, yeah Macy's, for emergencys- you can always haggle a bit there.

Oh, and if you can hit a price point above Macy's...Suit Supply. It's the Macy's of SoHo.

Response by poster: The Welk - Money is not "no" object, but I buy something like this about once per decade so I'm ok splurging a bit...

Best answer: I'd say Suit Supply is your best bet for Having what you want, brisk, professional salespeople, and an inhouse tailoring dept ( not sure if you could get something altered RIGHT NOW TODAY NOW but it couldn't hurt to ask).

Macy's gives a discount to customers who live more than 200 miles from the Macy's they're shopping in. You have to ask for it at customer service before you make your purchase. I think it's 10%.
