Android Document Scanner

What are your opinions on Portable Document Scanners for my Samsung Galaxy III phone? I am new to the Smartphone crowd and find the descriptions of the scanners available in Google Play lacking. I need to be able to scan old newspapers and other print media of similar quality. I am hoping for sufficient resolution to convert PDF scans to Word in ReadIris Pro 12.

I have the Scanner Pro app for my iphone and love it. There is a charge for this app, but it is worth every penny. It is available in several platforms.

I have a Galaxy S3 as well, and I use CamScanner - I don't use it a lot, but it seems to get the job done...

I use CamScanner too, for namecards and printouts. It works well when camera stability and lighting are good, but I haven't tried converting PDF scans to Word yet. You could consider getting something like the ScanBox to assist in the process.

Here's one that I use with my Galaxy S2: MDScan

It creates a PDF from the picture of the document that you take with the phone's camera.
