w2000 Icon Mystery.

My W2000 networked system at work has all of the desktop icons covered (not replaced) with another icon. The overlaid icon shows a hammer and screwdriver on a file. What does this mean? This happened when a coworker tried to play a CD on my system through our network. The performance of this system has not changed. Our MIS person does not know what these icons mean.

Sometimes Windows gets icons confused. Get hold of TweakUI, which has a "Fix Icons" function and should solve your problem.

More info here:

Fix Odd-looking Icons (with TweakUI)

Make sure you get the Win2000 version, not the XP version.
